Now that is cool. Too bad it's explosive. Is that the minimum rule with this property? How did you find it? If you did it with a search program, perhaps you could search for other rules with non-rock (not like MirrorLife) block reflectors.

No. It's the rule that differs from Life in the fewest transitions.

Found by hand. Surprisingly, it still works when removing S3q, which also tames it significantly.

Is it possible to trim the rule even more? I found that removing S3k also works, but it's still explosive. Your variant with S3k also has that weird spaceship that looks like it's moving in the wrong direction.

Oh, I missed S3y when going through the S3s. Thanks! It isn't explosive anymore! I'll do some manual investigation right now. Removing any single one of them also suffices to keep it non-explosive.

I honestly think that rules like these could be interesting. They hold a lot of engineering potential, but are less conduity than even MirrorLife. Are there any well-investigated rules like this? I already know there's Tubular with its catalytic tub.
