Not sure whether the exposed eater 2 has ever been used in a conduit or factory for both of its catalytic reactions:

Code: Select all

x = 17, y = 20, rule = B3/S23

This is basically a glorified version of a known H to traffic light shown in L122.
Currently writing a utility in Lua that may be helpful for faster manual pattern manipulation.

Hey, so, this p8 agar looks like something that would've been discovered a long time ago.

That one has been around for a while. It's featured in the first displayed subpattern in the Exploratorium, for example.

P13 version of the P8 glider reflector that may or may not be useful:

Code: Select all

x = 26, y = 25, rule = B3/S23

Like the P8 one, it can function like a stable reflector. Are there any other periods with sparkers that can support it?
wherever I go on the internet I bring with myself nothing but problems.

Code: Select all

x = 192, y = 53, rule = B3/S23

The only periodic component needed is a grin. Since one is produced by an eater 5 when it eats a glider, we can construct functionally stable reflectors for period >= 40 (period 39 is the largest unknown glider gun true period):

Code: Select all

x = 47, y = 48, rule = B3/S23
