By sylvie: A quadratic replicator with edge rule=core rule=range 3/2 W4124:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 1, rule = B2-ek4c/S
obo!
Adding B5k yields some wicks upon certain annihilations.

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 1, rule = B2-ek4c5k/S
obo!
Currently trying to reduce the big P6 double sparker.

Range 3/2 W4124.

Seriously, we need to name W4124 now.

I believe its W5192296859743753448426600480702704 aka W(2^4 + 2^5+2^6+2^7+2^16+2^48+2^80+ 2^112) aka W18 except range 3. A cell is born iff the current cell is dead, the cell to the left or right is on, and the other side is empty.

Ah, I think I see what I missed. The rule I described is effectively the same as W4124, except I wasn't familiar with how range 3/2 rules worked, so I found a range 3 rule that emulates W4124, and produces the same graph.

Funnily enough, the wiki page does just that too.
Anyways, yet another W4214 r=3/2 replicator by sylvie. I believe that it's c/4 according to Caterer's gif, but I can't check more closely in LifeViewer.

Currently working to improve Life's guns and work on updating SKOPs and Isotropic rules most similar to B3/S23 to Life standards. Will get software to begin searches eventually.

I don't see why not, there are tons of failed or partial replication reactions here, in addition to clean ones.

Sylvie found an interesting failedrep rulespace

Accidental 12c/167 when rulegolfing:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = B3aei4jknqwy5k6-ac/S2-in3eijkr4aciky5i6ikn7c8

EDIT 2:
Most oscillators in the first rule are based on this engine (shown stabilized by a T here):

Code: Select all

Failed replicator, the only offsprings are oscillators:
pattern

...
There is hope to corderize this engine as a replicator:

Code: Select all

x = 58, y = 30, rule = B3aei4jknqwy5k6ein/S2-in3eijkr4aciky5i6ikn7c8

A normal quadratic replicator:

Code: Select all

 x = 4, y = 3, rule = B2n3-n6n/S2-in3-c4i7e

[[ THEME INVERSE ]]
Do anyone have a P38 edge block factory?
Currently hand-searching spaceships.
Have a look at my spaceship hub viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7084 if you’re interested ÔvÔ

Code: Select all

  x = 4, y = 3, rule = B3-cnqy4ej7c/S2-ci3-ak4ceinrz5acek6c

Currently working to improve Life's guns and work on updating SKOPs and Isotropic rules most similar to B3/S23 to Life standards. Will get software to begin searches eventually.

A very chaotic and delicate replicator

Code: Select all

x = 179, y = 9, rule = B2-an3acejk4ajkz5iy6eik/S1c2-ae3eknr4ejkrt5cr7c

I know I already created an entire thread about this topic, but in a 2-state rule, can arbitrarily slow replicators exist in a single rule, as part of an arbitrarily adjustable family (much like the many known families of adjustable spaceships)?
Almost, this one turns into a puffer.

Code: Select all

x = 172, y = 4, rule = B2-an3acejk4ai6cek7c8/S12-ae3er4ejnt5cr6ci
