Nice, how did you find it? Wonder if it could be supported with gliders or even stretched (by the way, are rakes or rakes looking likely in this rule? I never got around to using Paul Tooke's gfind, but if a sparky ship was found it might lead the way to puffers and such)

orthogonal UC salvos - the only one I'm really happy with is the pull salvo and maybe the one that fires a glider backwards, but otherwise I have a feeling they could all be reduced:

Code: Select all

x = 87, y = 126, rule = tlife

A neat infinite-growth pattern - like Life's bricklayer, but simpler and not timing-dependent:

EDIT: The p160 beehive hassler I posted earlier can turn a block into a glider, making for an interesting glider gun with the help of a T->block reaction:

An attempt to sort every collision between two ants (my name for the 'alt glider') by output type:

The first two 'mess' collisions create this object, a 228-generation methuselah:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 5, rule = tlife
2o$b2o$3bo$obo$bo!
The third collision creates a different methuselah -

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = tlife
3o$2b2o$bobo$2bo!
- that evolves into the first along with a boat (see gen 23, or gen 123 in the collision collection - the junk at the bottom becomes a boat in 5 ticks without affecting the rest of the pattern). Interestingly, although the second methuselah waits 23 generations before becoming the first, it actually stabilizes quicker - 221 ticks.
The other two mess collisions (labeled 'misc' on the second row) are unrelated, lasting 488 and 139 generations respectively after colliding.

2T collisions sorted:

I checked on what spaceships in Life work in this rule; the only ones I could find are the glider and the crab:

Code: Select all

x = 12, y = 13, rule = tlife

Neat, I checked a while ago but missed the crab! The big glider is close to working, but the back end collapses. Wonder if it could be fixed?

Can anyone find a salvo that, using northwest-traveling gliders, moves a northeast- or southwest-pointing boat forwards diagonally?
EDIT: Found one - but can it be made smaller?

Code: Select all

x = 30, y = 44, rule = tlife

By the way, the 'mess' methuselah is actually pretty common in soups, although the debris around it stops it from fully evolving.

Hm, I guess that looks a bit easier than BlinkerSpawn's version on page 1, but I'm not too good with this stuff.

Some different, perhaps better, UC salvos:

Alternate 3G ant synthesis:

Also, check the synth database. There's a few new things in there from searching through B+G collisions.

Alright, so I've been trying to build a sawtooth, but I just can't see how it's supposed to fit together - maybe you folks will have something in mind. Here's the basic idea.

Code: Select all

x = 113, y = 130, rule = tlife
50bobo$50b2o$51bo22$bo$obo5bo$2o5bobo$6b2obo$6bo2$13bo$12bobo$11b2obo$
11bo2$18bo$17bobo$16b2obo$16bo2$23bo$22bobo$21b2obo$21bo2$28bo$27bobo$
26b2obo$26bo2$33bo$32bobo$31b2obo$31bo2$38bo$37bobo$36b2obo$36bo2$43bo
$42bobo$41b2obo$41bo19$53b2o$53bobo$53bo11$55b2o$55bobo$55bo5$72b2o$
72bobo$72bo4$90b2o$90bobo$90bo12b2o$103bobo$103bo15$110b2o$110bobo$
110bo!
In other words:
- A gun continuously fires ants that hit a boat, triggering the block-pulling reaction.
- The block is destroyed when it gets to the base of the sawtooth, triggering a signal that sends out a salvo of gliders to push the boat.
- Lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm not sure how the ant gun would work without interfering with the salvo guns (or vice versa), though.

--
That p20 is really neat - it can eat a T, which may come in handy dealing with p<160 streams.
Also, a cleaner 90-degree T reflector:

Code: Select all

x = 18, y = 11, rule = tlife
bo$3o$3bo$2bo5$15bo$15b3o$15bo!
The T's phase is changed, this time by two ticks instead of one.

misc. stuff that might come in handy at some point

Nice on all three counts, especially the small eater! If only your B factory could hook up to the B->G.

I've edited the first post with Jackk's new glider gun and links to the pattern collections - namely BlinkerSpawn's synthesis database and the two-X-collisions I've been posting.

Also, this two-glider collision works for an AND gate as well:

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 13, rule = tlife
7bo$6bo$6b3o8$2o$b2o$o!
And a better T->forward glider:

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 10, rule = tlife
3o2$obo$bo3$8bo$7b2o$8bobo$9bo!

Another t-gun:

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 20, rule = tlife

I posted that one a while ago.
By the way, the only cells necessary for the T eater are these...

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 8, rule = tlife
3o$bo4$2b2obo$2b2obo$4bo!
...meaning that it can be modified to have more than one 'mouth':

Code: Select all

x = 27, y = 22, rule = tlife
7bo2$6bobo16bo$3o4bo$bo5bo16bobo$18b3o4bo$19bo5bo2$2b2ob2o$2b2ob2o$4bo

2o$3o4bo$6bobo2$7bo!
How did you find it, if I may ask?

Almost a B->T:

Code: Select all

x = 10, y = 13, rule = tlife
7bo$7b2o$8b2o$7b2o5$b2ob2o$obob2o$o2bo$bobo$2bo!
EDIT: Heh, TLifeHistory's killer cells are fun.

I found a synthesis without meaning to:

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 11, rule = tlife
3b2o$2bo2bo$3bobo$4bob2o$5bo2bo$6bobo$7bo3$bo$3o!
It might be possible to drastically reduce the expense by synthesizing this stage directly:

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 8, rule = tlife
2b3o$3bo2$b2o$3bo$o2bo$3bo$b2o!

A naturally occuring two-stage t-eater:

Code: Select all

x = 89, y = 44, rule = tlife
12$21b3o$20b2o2bo$19bo5bo$20b2ob2o20bobo$21b3o21bo2bo22b3o$45bobo21bob

p14 can eat Ts as well:

Code: Select all

x = 23, y = 15, rule = tlife
10bo11bo$10b3o7b3o$13bo5bo$12b2o5b2o2$17bo$b2o4bo8bobo$3o2b3o7bo3bo$b
