I thought I'd try running a width-6 c/10 even-symmetric zfind search to see if I could find a potential tagalong or alternative back end for the copperhead. Obviously, such a search is not exhaustive (it stops once it reaches the copperhead itself), and it terminated with no solutions found, but there were some reasonable partials (not all with the copperhead front end):

Ignoring the ships and colors for a moment, I'm not even sure how the circles are generated. Maybe there is a name for this kind of thing but I can't remember what it is called if such a name even exists.

The copperhead has 4 predecessors that fit withing a 6x11 rectangle with symmetry. Finding the ship this way takes ~1 hour.

Wow! Congratulations! It looks very promising! I resume my study of a c/10 puffer.
EDIT: Playing a pedant, I think it should be considered an individual spaceship with the same frontend, rather than a tagalong, because the backend interacts with the block.
EDIT 2: How about calling it "fireship" due to the spark?

Very cool! I would be surprised if a puffer couldn't be built from this, although the slow speed of the ship doesn't help it, as a lot of the glider collisions destroy the ship. It can clear blocks and blinkers, so a simple puffer could lead to a rake.
