Try doing searches for gliders with lots of seperation (20 cells or so). I too have gotten bored with tiny 4-cell separation SMOSes (SMIE? SMYE? SMOSI?*), so I tried searching for SMOS with very separated gliders. I have only found 2 SMOSes that have gliders separated by 20 cells.

A 3-cell separation SMOS should only take around 1-2 minutes. You need to use Rhombic's rulesrc that keeps some generations btw.

I think it should be SMSMOS.
While running a rulesrc search, I found this rule (B2n3-ckq5i6i/S2-i3-jr4cekrwyz5-ceik6ekn7c8) which (probably) doesn't have a fancy rulesrc ship. It does, however, have oscillators of all periods 36 or more.
