A consequence of KILLGLIDERS:

Code: Select all

x = 50, y = 16, rule = B3/S23
22b3o$22bo$23bo13$50o!

Code: Select all

x = 50, y = 16, rule = B3/S23
22b3o$22bo$23bo13$50o!
#C [[ KILLGLIDERS ]]
Also, it removes the history cells that the glider overlaps, for some strange reason.

You’ve heard of Peano arithmetic, but have you heard of piano arithmetic?

0 pianos is a completely natural number of pianos.
For every natural number of pianos, that number of pianos equals itself.
If a natural number of pianos equals another, that other equals the former.
If x, y, and z are natural amounts of pianos, and x pianos is y pianos, and y pianos is z pianos, x pianos is z pianos.
If x is a natural number of pianos, and x pianos is y pianos, then y is also a natural number of pianos.
The successor of n = C is C sharp.
C sharp is D flat.
Since the successor of a natural note (I.e. white key) may or may not be a natural note, D flat may or may not be a natural note. And it isn’t!

If you have sheet music S such that you have the lowest note on the piano in it and each note in S has its successor in S, then your music spans the keyboard.

The successor of a note is that note sharp.
A sharp flat becomes natural.

Piano arithmetic: the operator # such that n#m = n+m-1. For example a major third plus a perfect fourth is a major sixth.

A rather nice rule
Considering it’s B1e.

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 7, rule = B1e3ak4k/S1e23qr4
b2o3b2o$3o2b3o2$o2$3o2b3o$b2o3b2o!

Run w/ hashlife— it’s slow but still faster.

I think of a slide gun driven by slow rakes
or a mmm breeder that makes rakes in front of it

I need a slower-than-c2 high period forward and backward rakes.

    This is all due to the right-to-left override control character, U+202e. You can return it to left-to-right using U+202d, the left-to-right override control character.
