34578/257/16
With it... You can make bug-like spaleships, "World Eaters" (as i call them), various guns, etc.

Welcome to the forums! To post a pattern you found, simply use the code tag: Use the fifth button above the textbox to launch one.
Select your pattern in the golly and copy, then paste it into the tags. This way images are not needed, and we can check the patterns with Lifeviewer quickly.
Here's a random scribble in the rule:

Code: Select all

x = 323, y = 204, rule = 34578/257/16

EDIT: I've spent much time trying to get access to the images and reproduce them in Golly. They come from simple seeds and I can make a good guess.
Here's a 19-generation predecessor for the first pattern, a four-barrelled gun:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = 34578/257/16
.2A$4A$4A$.2A!
Unfortunately the latter four patterns are not guns, as a gun is supposed to be stationary, like your first pattern.
The second pattern is called a rake:

Code: Select all

x = 24, y = 53, rule = 34578/257/16

The third pattern is a rake as well:

The fourth is a spaceship:

The closest to the fifth is a sideways wickstretcher, with an unstable backend:

Also, for an isotropic rule the directions (namely, your UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT) are the same, hence the collective term orthogonal.
PS: don't mind the colours

Welcome to the forums! The duplicate posts about the rule is unnecessary. For record, your remarks:
34578/257/16 is an interesting rule that one my friend posted instead of me,but I will do it again.
I call it ,, Spaceships and diamonds". It has lots of spaceships,some of what have ,,spine" and some grow indefinitely. I call these last ,,vital spaceships", since they normally cannot die. Ones that look like paralellograms I call ,,wings". There are also many diamond - shaped oscillators,some of them are square,diamond,table and heart. They sometimes may act as eaters and,when combined,they may act as guns. There are also many still lifes,most notable ones are cross and barge (same as game of life,but filled). There also exists one that I call ,,diamond" that is often produced in periodical spaceship collisions. Or bi - cross,rare still life consists of two crosses. Most of the puffers are based on collisions beetwen spaceships. There are also many rakes.
I am new,so I do not know how to open LifeViewer (I know where is a button,but not how to use it). Please answer!Have a good day!

Fifth one I call ,,vital spaceship" since it cannot die in normal conditions. I think that it may be replicator or quadratic growth,since another copies of special spaceships will start to produce copies of itself if separated. Not sure, but our points of view are not the same.

All Generations rules with parameters 34578/257 and number of states in range 4 thru 16 are interesting. For example here is a nice gun in the 13 state variant:

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 10, rule = 34578/257/13
2.2A$.A2B$.B2C$L.ADF$.2AFEDCBA$F2AFEDCBA$E.ADF$.B2C$.A2B$2.2A!

Come the hell on, just because someone's new and doesn't master the local expressions and terms doesn't mean they're a spambot.

Well, he (not coincidentally but coincidentally) liked the rule that came from someone else also new.
Battles? It's for fun ONLY.
A new person can't be experienced because they're new.
Discovering IS really the thing there is.

Hunting was (a bit) more rude because he believed that he is a spambot while I didn't.

Well, spaceships called "tanks" using things called "guns", even if they're not actively targeting other sprites but shooting shapes according to a pre-programmed pattern, could be described as some sort of "battle". In fact, it was quite difficult for me to find a word for the result of the units multiplicating and "shooting". A pattern? Fireworks? A result? A display? A show?

YakForger is "playing" with CA, which is what I think we all are doing, really. Honestly I used to "play" with the Star Wars rule just to watch the "battles" in the building of structures. I would sit there for hours. There's really nothing wrong with how any of us "plays" with CA.
