I think there is inconsistency. In the pattern, (1-x)(x-1) = -(x-1)² ≤ 0, so log(1-x)(x-1) has no real values for real x. In the description (x-1)log(1-x) does tend to zero.

I have a similar feeling. Firstly I don't like using VPN everytime I want to do something about cellular automata. Secondly there seem to be negative opinions toward the site about some of its content (of course not related to CA, but it deters). Thirdly more information source is not good for managing, archiving and searching, and the old and simple conwaylife.com forums is totally enough for relevant discussion.
