Re: MWSS-to-LWSS Partial
Since there already exist various compact, periodic methods to convert MWSSes to LWSSes that do not alter timing or lane, the only use for this particular reaction would be in a stable MWSS -> LWSS.
Now, the pattern you've posted basically attempts to make any such usage completely impossible by cutting off everything. Not to mention that the eater could probably be replaced by a block. Instead, it's better to extract a signal out of the resulting junk so that we can then start up some repair circuitry. It turns out that the reaction generates a Pi on its own, and so after cleaning up the other debris (which involves an admittedly not totally intuitive placement of blocks) we arrive at this:
Now things are looking much better - we only need to synthesize one object instead of two, and we also have a free signal that we can use to start up some construction circuitry.

I would be very interested is seeing said converters in p30.Sphenocorona wrote:Since there already exist various compact, periodic methods to convert MWSSes to LWSSes that do not alter timing or lane....
They would be a welcome addition to my toolbox.

I just realized that the spot I've seen them before happens to already be in your p30 thread, in this post.triller wrote:I would be very interested is seeing said converters in p30.Sphenocorona wrote:Since there already exist various compact, periodic methods to convert MWSSes to LWSSes that do not alter timing or lane....

Just to clarify: when I said compact, I meant that the devices I was alluding to would certainly be smaller than any converter the above reaction above would yield. Unfortunately, I'm not super familiar with periodic technology and so I don't know whether the sort of thing linked above is actually 'compact' in an absolute sense.
Re: MWSS-to-LWSS Partial
So I see. I'd forgotten. Six years is a far piece. Perhaps the HWSS to MWSS a couple posts down can be made viable @p30. That would complete a set of upsize/downsize converters (@p30 anyway).Sphenocorona wrote: I just realized that the spot I've seen them before happens to already be in your p30 thread, in this post.

Here is a more complete design where a glider is produced and the bait can be reconstructed with 5 gliders. Two of the gliders have timing dependency with respect to each other but not with respect to the other three.Regarding a MWSS-to-LWSS partial danieldb wrote:The farthest I've got is this
