Interesting visual effect in Seeds chaos

Post by blah » May 20th, 2016, 5:08 am

This probably happens in other B2 rules.
While I was working in my javascript CA implementation I noticed this interesting effect you can notice in chaos in the Seeds rule. You can see it here:

Code: Select all

#C [[ AUTOSTART GPS 32 ZOOM 4 THEME 6 ]]
x = 64, y = 64, rule = B2/S:T64,64
24$31.2A$33.A!
Maybe some of you noticed this prior, but if you look at the seeds chaos you can kind of see what look like strange particles popping in and out of existence and moving orthogonally at c. It also seems that you can see particles moving left, or right, or up, or down, if you will yourself into seeing it. Can others corroborate my experience?

I believe this is because of the way B2 rules duplicate dominoes.
