Also, your comments on fallback are good for me. If I run out of search space and find nothing, I'll have to try w16, and I want to know which partials I should try back. And for that, I'd have to see your comments on fallback.

Re: Random posts
I didn't interpret it as meanness, but then again, I may be wrong.
Yes, but you probably have an idea of what constitutes good fallback by now. However, if you're worried about not having my comments, here are the aspects of good fallback:
- Falling back a greater distance
- Falling back sooner/more quickly after delivering the spark
- Staying back for longer after falling back
I am tentatively considering myself back.

Are there anything left on gameoflifetotalwar? It's a rubbish site now.

What is this website? It's all in Thai. I've never heard of it before.

It was a very popular Life-combat online game, played all over the internet, not only on this community. Many members joined because of that website. Its domain name is now taken for whatever reason and became a rubbish Thai site.Schiaparelliorbust wrote: ↑December 9th, 2020, 3:35 amWhat is this website? It's all in Thai. That was what I was asking. For the second question, there's only one thread about the game on this forum, its here:Schiaparelliorbust wrote: ↑December 9th, 2020, 3:47 amIs there any way to find its original version? When did this happen/when was it played?

lifecompetes was close but not quite the same as totalwar.

Wait, you can run soup searches on replit?
EDIT: Oh, it's only around 1000 soups per second in B3/S23/C1.

I know that there's a thread on the Patterns forums for synthesizing oscillators, but I don't think that there's a thread for synthesizing other patterns. I encourage you to make one.JP21 wrote: ↑December 9th, 2020, 11:34 amWhat is the proper thread for this?

Soup-based syntheses (it hasn't been posted on in a while)MathAndCode wrote: ↑December 9th, 2020, 8:08 pmI know that there's a thread on the Patterns forums for synthesizing oscillators, but I don't think that there's a thread for synthesizing other patterns. I encourage you to make one.
For non-soup based still life syntheses, the 20-bit still life synthesis thread, and it's kind of pointless for larger still lives unless they have a purpose
EDIT: @hunting that thread is basically the same but it's older so that one is better

Oscillator discussion is boring me out. I'll return when the cgol community switches to something else.

woooow you think someone would get banned if they necroposted longer than a year
Ok but seriously still life syntheses in synthesizing oscillators should be acceptable, look back in the older pages of the thread

Re: Random posts
That is an exaggeration, but I understand how you could be confused because the English language only has a finite number of words, so it only convey the intended meaning with a certain amount of accuracy.goldenratio wrote: ↑December 9th, 2020, 8:50 pmwoooow you think someone would get banned if they necroposted longer than a year

Did you randomly thought about the p45 gun, or you saw one of my posts?wwei23 wrote: ↑December 9th, 2020, 10:20 pmIs it truly impossible to stabilize the P45 gun/oscillator using P9 oscillators?Code: Select all
Also, I posted a 9 glider synthesis but catagolue still says 10.
JP21, 2 days ago wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 10:44 pmxs19_3pm0mmzw343
That's surprising. How did my synthesis even got to catagolue? No one even tried to reduce the 4 gliders spark to 3 gliders.

Re: Random posts
You have to wait a few hours for it to get on to the database.
B2n3-jn/S1c23-y is an interesting rule. It has a replicator, a fake glider, an OMOS and SMOS, a wide variety of oscillators, and some signals. Also this rule is omniperiodic.

The longest-lasting eight-cell methuselah probably consists of an R-pentomino and a preblock or blinker. The longest-lasting nine-cell methuselah is probably an R-pentomino and a predecessor of a traffic light or something, and the longest-lasting eleven-cell methuselah may even just be an R-sequence and a predecessor for a honey farm or something.
I am tentatively considering myself back.
