J-Heptoplet

Post by Axaj » December 10th, 2009, 12:16 am

I recently found a Heptoplet that shows interesting behavior.

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 5, rule = B3/S23
2bo$2bo$2bo$2o$2o!
It can be modified by an fish hook to make a Pi:

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 11, rule = B3/S23
2o$bo$bobo$2b2o3$7bo$7bo$7bo$5b2o$5b2o!
Or a block (destroyed in process) to make four boats, all rotated differently.

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 8, rule = B3/S23
2o$2o2$5bo$5bo$5bo$3b2o$3b2o!
Two make two gliders:

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 11, rule = B3/S23
b2o$b2o$o$o$o2$7bo$7bo$7bo$5b2o$5b2o!

x = 10, y = 5, rule = B3/S23
2bo5b2o$2bo5b2o$2bo4bo$2o5bo$2o5bo!
One plus a block makes long boat.

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 8, rule = B3/S23
2o$2o2$4bo$4bo$4bo$2b2o$2b2o!
More of these to come; a glider synthesis would be very nice.

Just as clarification, that is not a polyomino, as not all of the live cells are orthogonally connected. Also, it's standard to use the Greek hept- prefix rather than the Latin sept- when describing polyominoes (Pi heptomino, B heptomino, etc.). (Tetris = quadris?)

Your right, I forgot. So it's a heptoplet, correct?

One plus a fish hook makes boat:

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 10, rule = B3/S23
7bo$5b3o$4bo$4b2o2$2bo$2bo$2bo$2o$2o!
Or a TL:

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 9, rule = B3/S23
7bo$5b3o$4bo$4b2o3$2o$2o$2b3o!
Or a honeypot.

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 6, rule = B3/S23
6b3o$9b2o$2b2o5b2o$bobo$bo$2o!
One plus tub (destroyed) makes LOM:

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 8, rule = B3/S23
bo$obo$bo$4bo$4bo$4bo$2b2o$2b2o!

Yay, found an eater!

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 9, rule = B3/S23
2o$bo$bobo$2b2o$6bo$6bo$6bo$4b2o$4b2o!

Faster eater (7 vs 15 gens):

Code: Select all

x = 13, y = 9, rule = B3/S23
2o9b2o$bo9bo$bobo5bobo$2b2o5b2o$6bo$6bo$6bo$4b2o$4b2o!
