Yeah, that's your post. I didn't edit that one at all -- just adjusted the titles of the first and third posts slightly so that the title "Random posts 2" would show up everywhere.

And Now... The Rest Of The Story
So far things aren't going terribly well with this Sandbox Reformation Project. We just got yet another pair of posts reported on Random Post sandbox threads ... trying to get a moderator to take some random action, when I (at least) don't see why any action is needed.

This gives no cogent reason for the request. Why in Conway's name should I spend time fiddling around deleting that particular thread? Several people posted there; how would I know that they all want their posts deleted? Even if they did want their posts deleted, they should go right ahead and edit their posts so they say "delete me". When everybody has done that, maybe somebody will come along and delete the thread -- but then again, maybe not, because why would it matter at that point?

Long story short, take responsibility for your own posts. Nobody has promised to run around and clean up after you just because you tell them to. If you've posted silly embarrassing stuff in the Sandbox... well, really, that's your problem, not the forum moderators' problem.

Then {censored} reported this thread, apparently without reading it well enough to notice that it was a moderator that helped set it up.

Will you all please please please just stop reporting garbage posts in the Sandbox, unless they actually need a moderator's attention? The only thing worse that you all piling huge amounts of silly junk posts in Sandbox threads, is having them pointed out to me with a forum post report so that I have to go look at it all.

This thread was here already, along with several other existing threads, as GUYTU6J pointed out this morning.

If the Sandbox keeps being more trouble than it's worth, Nathaniel might eventually decide to shut the whole thing down completely. That's one option.

What isn't an option is moderators trying to play Whack-A-Mole and lock new Word Chains or Random Posts threads whenever someone tries to create one. That's clearly obviously a lost cause and a waste of everyone's time, so it's not going to be happening.

So ... that means that ... this is a Sandbox thread, just as good as a whole lot of other Sandbox threads, and therefore people are welcome to post in it if they want to.

Here's How The Sandbox Usually Works
Let's work through an example. Usually when someone create a new Sandbox thread when they really, really shouldn't have -- this one here is a wonderful example --

... the moderators will just ignore it,
... so will everyone else,
... nothing bad will happen,
... and Life will continue. Eventually someone will successfully explain to the thread creator that it's kind of rude behavior to create a new thread when a new thread is absolutely completely not needed, and then they'll eventually stop.

The real problem only shows up when people start posting so often, and doing things that are so annoying, that other people start reporting their posts as forum rule violations.

When that happens, moderators end up not getting to work on the things that they would rather be working on, because instead they're writing long boring posts explaining How to Behave, to people who really ought to know better by this time already.

A few days ago it came to my attention that your government has been considering, using the old (old) rule of "don't make it yourself" - what we call "in-principle of sacrifice".
