i would've asked this "Thread for your basic questions" but it didn't feel like it would be a good place to put such a thing.

I don't see how this thread would be of any help in resolving any perceived problems. If you have a specific issue with actions taken by other users, you can discuss those actions where they are relevant, you can report a post, or you can message the moderators.
