Re: Guns involving conduits
This thread got a "suggestion" type of post report, saying that it wasn't clear that this topic really needs its own thread.
We have three existing threads on the Patterns board for collecting glider guns.
Execution of Old Guns focuses on bounding-box optimization, Gun Discussion Thread is for new gun mechanisms or designs, and Small Four-Digit Prime Period Guns is self-explanatory.
I would tend to agree that "guns involving conduits" is much too broad a topic to really need its own thread on the Patterns board. There are untold billions of guns involving conduits, starting with a large subset of the guns in the older version of Dieter and Peter's glider gun collection. (A program called Hersrch was used to generate all the periods below 1000 that were missing as of early 2003.)
There are a lot more types of conduits available now than there were in 2003, which only makes the category even larger than it was then.
That said, a Sandbox thread called "guns involving conduits" is totally fine if people want it -- as a "construction practice" type of thread. So I've moved this thread over here to the Sandbox board.
