The players on their turn send a glider (or a different spaceship, or multiple spaceships for variation, but this time we will do base) into the pattern from outside the bounding diamond (if done from the inside it could end up the glider would have to have arrived from the inside of the pattern, so don't). Thr goal is to, eventually, assimilate the whole pattern into consisting of just one type of pattern, escaping spaceships notwithstanding. The choice of pattern to turn into can either be proclaimed at the start or decided during gameplay. Tis3 time I won't intervene.
