Boring is a term used to describe certain composite oscillators. These oscillators, while having at least one cell which oscillates at the full period of the oscillator, and therefore being considered non-trivial, are considered boring due to not having any markedly new rotors or new reactions.

Examples of oscillators considered boring include boring p24, fumarole on Rob's p16 and jam on 44P7.2.
