Carrier with feather is an 11-cell still life composed of an aircraft carrier and a feather.

Occurrence

See also: List of common still lifes, List of still lifes with 11 cells

Carrier with feather is the 133rd most common still life on Adam P. Goucher's Catagolue, being less common than trans-bookend and wing but more common than barge siamese loaf. Among all still lifes with 11 cells, it is the 15th most common, being less common than snake with feather but more common than long^3 boat.[1] Of the 11-cell still lifes that work in B35/S23, it is the second most common in both Life and B35/S23, behind the very similar snake with feather.[2]

Glider synthesis

All strict still lifes with a population of 22 or fewer cells, all oscillators with 16 or fewer cells, and all spaceships with 31 or fewer cells are known to be glider-constructible. A glider synthesis of this object can be found in the infobox to the right.
