Edge-repair spaceship 1 is a c/3 orthogonal edge-repair spaceship that was found by David Bell in 1992. It was the first edge-repair spaceship to be discovered, though the usefulness of its edge-repair property wasn't recognized until July 1997.
The extremely similar 25P3H1V0.1, also found by Bell in 1992, is displayed below. It is notable because it contains a minimum of only 25 cells, making it tied with 25P3H1V0.2 as the smallest c/3 spaceship.[1] 25P3H1V0.1 also retains its edge-repair property.
