Figure eight on rattlesnake is a period 88 oscillator that is composed of a figure eight and rattlesnake. Although it is composed of two oscillators of smaller periods (8 and 11 respectively), it is considered nontrivial because it contains a single cell that is alive in generation 87 and dead in the other 87 phases of the oscillator. In terms of its 45 cells, it is the smallest known nontrivial period 88 oscillator.
