HRx65R is an elementary converter found by Mitchell Riley in July 2022. Consisting of three eater 1s and a transparent loaf, the Spartan conduit transforms a Herschel to an R-pentomino as well as a glider in 65 ticks.
Similar to the HLx69R in L156, this conduit releases a glider at the corner that is not the first natural glider. But when HRx65R is succeeded by RF28B and BFx59H, the resulting R152 has a repeat time of 58 ticks, lower than 62 ticks of HLx69R+RF28B+BFx59H. It is thus capable of reducing glider guns of several periods.[1]
If the glider is not needed, adding a block and an eater 1 to suppress it may be done inside the original bounding box.[2]
