42883M is a methuselah with a lifespan of 42883 generations, discovered by Adam P. Goucher on November 30, 2018, using apgsearch.[1] It is currently the longest-lasting known methuselah to fit within a 16×16 bounding box, surpassing 42100M which was discovered by Dave Greene a month earlier.
Stable pattern
The stable pattern that results from 42883M (excluding 52 escaping gliders) has 4073 cells and consists of 330 blinkers (including 27 traffic lights), 318 blocks, 171 beehives (including ten honey farms), 45 loaves, 49 boats, 13 ships, eight tubs, eight ponds, three long boats, two ship-ties in the form of a fleet, and one toad.
