36P17.1 is an unnamed period 17 oscillator, consisting of a honey farm predecessor, hassled by 4 eaters. It is the smallest known period 17 oscillator in terms of minimum population, though 54P17.1 still has a slightly smaller bounding box.

It was discovered by Matthias Merzenich in September 2014 with a modified version of Dean Hickerson's billiard table drifter search, that facilitates discovery of symmetric oscillators.
