Jason's p156, or 92P156, is a large symmetrical oscillator (with 1,679,616 variants) found by Jason Summers on October 31, 2004 in a RandomAgar search. It is actually an eight-barrelperiod-156 glider gun (firing four close glider pairs) that is currently the smallest known at that period,[1] with all output gliders suppressed by eater 1s.
It has 1,679,616 (68) variants, because each eater 1 can be put in six different positions. The heat can be as high as 58.7, or as low as 53.7; The volatity can reach from 94-95%, and rotor size can reach from 808 to 1000. But putting at least one of the eater 1s to the farthest distance increases the bounding box. The one shown in the infobox is the form with all of the eater 1s as close to the center as possible.
The population can be reduced at the cost of doubling the period, by replacing each eater with a snake, or by replacing each pair of eaters with a beehive to produce 60P312.
The pair of gliders can also be caught by a pond or loaf in a boat-bit reaction (which only works if both gliders are present.) This is found in most of the 92p156-based gun variants recorded in Catagolue.[2]
