Jason's p33 is a period-33 oscillator that was discovered by Jason Summers on August 31, 2000.[1] The original stabilization (shown below) used an extension of odd keys. The smaller stabilization by boats and tubs (shown to the right) was found by Matthias Merzenich in 2013 using Bellman.[2]
Two copies of Jason's p33 were used to construct the first period-33 glider gun.
A statorless variant of this oscillator is also known, and a 68-glider synthesis of it was found by Summers and Mark Niemiec in February 2001.[1] This was reduced to 56 gliders by GUYTU6J on March 21, 2020.[3]
