Jaydot is a 9-cell methuselah with a lifespan of 6929 generations found by Tanner Jacobi on March 10, 2014.[1] The ratio of its lifespan to the number of cells in its bounding box is unusually high for a methuselah, though Bunnies 11 is superior in that respect. Because the pattern is composed of common spark and a common pond predecessor, it is simple to synthesize.
Stable pattern
The stable pattern that results from jaydot has 1124 cells and covers an area of 259 by 214 cells; it consists of 68 blocks (including one blockade), 66 blinkers (including five traffic lights and three halves of an interchange), 50 beehives (including two honey farms), 26 gliders, 13 loaves, nine boats, five ships, five tubs, one pond, one toad, and two ship-ties in the form of a fleet. A lightweight spaceship is temporarily formed at the north-east side in generation 5416, but does not survive after generation 5453.
