L122 is an elementary stable Herschel conduit completed by Aidan F. Pierce in July 2020.[1] After 122 ticks, it produces a Herschel turned 90 degrees counterclockwise at (3, -30) relative to the input. Its recovery time is 100 ticks. It is considered a dependent conduit because the input Herschel's first natural glider is not produced. In the pattern shown in the infobox, a ghost Herschel marks the output location.
The supported beehive catalyst works just as well in mirror image, but then the eater 4 leaves less space for the preceding Herschel conduit to fit. The beehive can be replaced by a tub for a smaller recovery time.[2] An Fx77 conduit can precede the L122 if the aircraft carrier in the northwest catalyst is replaced by an eater 1.
The original form of this conduit was a periodic version using a heavyweight emulator, found by Tanner Jacobi in January 2016.[3] This was followed in July 2020 by a compact p2 conduit using killer toads by Entity Valkyrie,[4] with recovery time 90 instead of 100. This reduced the size of several guns in the reference glider gun collection.[5]
