The following is a list of issues within LifeViewer are not considered to be a high enough priority to fix immediately:

Fixes planned
  • Crashes can occur when higher-range cells are manually placed near the edge of the grid[1]
Backlog issues
  • KILLGLIDERS in [R]History rules replaces marked off cells with generic history cells[2]
  • Selections appear visually offset on bounded grids, often as a result of mismatching specified and actual pattern sizes[3]
  • Bounded grids are not centered correctly when a pattern first loads[4]
  • Margolus patterns are handled incorrectly with bounded grids, resulting in positioning errors and cell deletion[5]
  • Pattern bounding boxes are calculated incorrectly on bounded grids[6]
Low-priority issues
  • The triangular grid renders slightly to the left of where it should[7][8][4][9]
    • As a result of this bug, some of the horizontal lines can be seen to de-render at the right edge of the grid under certain circumstances.
Acknowledged, status unknown
  • Spaceships being deleted by the boundary causes false results for several statistics in Identify[10]
Platform-exclusive issues
iOS
  • There are large visual gaps in triangular selections[11]
  • Period maps are not generated for oscillators with bounding boxes exceeding 4096 cells in a direction[12]
  • The copy and cut buttons give the "Copied to external clipboard" message however does not, there is no permanence between sessions[citation needed]
  • The lazyslug.com interface begins unreasonably thin (in the y axis) when accessed in portrait mode on an iPhone, however will become closer to square if switched to landscape mode and back[citation needed]
