This oscillator first appeared semi-naturally in September 2016.[2] A 13-glidersynthesis is known for a stator variant featuring loaves; with appropriate component to convert them to pre-blocks, the canonical form can be synthesized from 21 gliders.[3] On January 22, 2023, the synthesis was reduced to 15 gliders based on a soup-based reaction that generates the canonical variant directly.[4] A bigger yet higher clearance sparker is shown below.
