Mirrored dock is a 20-cell strict still life consisting of two mutually stabilising docks. It is one of two ways in which two docks can be arranged to create a still life.
Skewing the two constituent houses gives rotated dock.
It can eat single gliders from four directions.
Commonness
Mirrored dock is the fifty-third most common still life in Achim Flammenkamp's census, being less common than cis-shillelagh but more common than broken snake.[1]
It is the 48th most common still life on Adam P. Goucher's Catagolue, being less common than elevener but more common than block on cap. It is the most common still life with 20 cells, being 197 times as common as xs20_6a88b96z2553.[2]
Glider synthesis
All strict still lifes with a population of 22 or fewer cells, all oscillators with 16 or fewer cells, and all spaceships with 31 or fewer cells are known to be glider-constructible. A glider synthesis of this object can be found in the infobox to the right.
