Sticky is a chaotic multi-state ruletable designed for circuitry. It was created by Redstoneboi on May 14, 2018.

Mechanics

A blue cell and a grey cell behind it makes a photon going in that direction. If it hits a red cell, it splits in two directions. These two directions can be blocked by placing red cells next to one or both directions of the red cell to create a reflector or eater.

A photon can also drag a red cell to the next cell, destroying the photon in the process. This is very useful for slide guns. Certain photon collisions can result in a red cell, thus technology like spaceships and replicators being possible.

Patterns

Diodes

Sarp discovered a simple diode design.[1].

Logic gates

There is an and gate constructed with Sarp's diode.

Memory

A simple memory bit design was discovered by Redstoneboi.[2]

Stamp collection

Redstoneboi made a stamp collection of every logic thing at that time a few days after the creation of the rule.

Spaceships

An orthogonoid has been discovered by islpting.[3] caption=Orthogonoid. A diagonal spaceship in Sticky has not yet been constructed, but it is being worked on.

Replicators

Islptng discovered a replicator in Sticky prcoeeding the orthogonoid. It constructs the top line first, then the bottom line, and then the constructor thing below and to the right of the bottom line, and then it fills the space inbetween the two lines with code. Sticky replicator.png

Variants

Life-Based Sticky

Life-based Sticky is Sticky but the red cells emulate life. This Sticky variant is Turing-Complete without a doubt.

StickyR2

StickyR2 is Sticky but a collision of two photons in such a way it would trigger b2i with blue cells, it makes a red cell instead of dying.

StickyBoxes

StickyBoxes is StickyR2 but the collision makes an orange cell instead. A collision between a photon and an orange cell results in the orange cell dying. Thus, orange cells are a memory cell when used right. There is no way to read an orange cell, however.
