Cis-loaf on table is an 13-cell still life.

Construction

This still life is known to be constructible with 4 gliders. A 4-glider synthesis was found in August 2017.[1]

See also: List of common still lifes

Cis-loaf on table is the eighty-seventh most common still life in Achim Flammenkamp's census, being less common than trans-boat with nine but more common than beehive with hooked tail.[3]

It is the 73rd most common still life on Adam P. Goucher's Catagolue, being less common than eleven loop but more common than cis-loaf with tail. It is the 2nd most common still life with 13 cells, being less common than beehive at loaf but more common than trans-snake on bun.[4]

There are 5 three-glider collisions in the octo3g database[note 1] and 18 collisions in the octo3obj database[note 2] with this still life occurring in the final pattern.

Isomers

This still life is comprised of the normally stable loaf acting to stabilise the normally unstable table, an induction coil. This is one of two possible isomers, named cis due to less of the loaf extending past the side of the table; the other isomer, trans-loaf on table, extends out by one more cell.

Notes

  1. Three collisions converge to a B+glider collision (final population 72, headerless RLE 19b2o$19bobo$19bo2$bo$3o$ob2o!) via 2G syntheses of the B-heptomino sequence. The two other collisions are 6bo$4b2o$5b2o$bo$2bo$3o32$16bo$15b2o$15bobo! (final population 115) and obo$b2o$bo11$76bo$74b2o$75b2o$71bo$72bo$70b3o! (final population 116).
  2. Eight collisions converge to 11b3o$2o9bo2bo$2o9bo3bo$15bo$11bo3bo$b2o8bo2bo$o2bo7b3o$b2o! (final population 157). Seven other collisions converge to b2o$o2bo$b2o2$13b3o$15bo$b2ob2o7b3o$b2ob2o! (final population 197). Three other collisions are 3bo$3bo$3bo5b2o$9b2o2$bo7b2o$obo6b2o$obo2b2o$bo2b2o$6bo! (final population 35), bo$obo$obo$bo2$6bo$6bo$6bo5b3o$12bo$8b3o2bo! (final population 448) and 4bo$4bo$4bo4$6b2ob2o2b2o$6b2ob2ob2o$14bo$3o! (final population 522).
