Oscillizer
Oscillizer is an online utility that was created and maintained by Jason Summers. It gives a useful period map of the cells in an oscillator. Each different period in the oscillator rotor gets a different color in the map. A chart is provided as a key to the period colors and shows for each: count, percent of total and percent of rotor.
It also provides vital statistics for the oscillator: period, population min, population max, population average, active cells in rotor, cells in stator, total cells, volatility, strict volatility, heat minimum, heat maximum, heat average, temperature, rotor temperature, bounding box and rule.
To use the utility, paste the oscillator RLE into the box and select "Analyze". The program is also provided for download and use offline.
Many features of Oscillizer can also be generated using LifeViewer's Identify function, the only missing statistics being strict volatility, minimum and maximum rule, and the highlighting of cells and their periods.
As of April 2021, the original tool appears to be nonfunctional. However, a modern remake was published by Dongook Lee in July 2021.[1]
