p146 pi-heptomino hassler (or 51P146) is a period-146 oscillator found by Mitchell Riley and Luke Kiernan on July 6, 2022 using a symmetric variant of CatForce.[1][2] It was later monomerized by Evin[3] and reduced further by cvojan[4] into a 52-cell form, with the only difference from the current form being a fishhook instead of the single toad. On February 23, 2023, iNoMed replaced that fishhook with a toad, reducing it from 52 cells to 51. It is currently the smallest known oscillator of this period.

Later, iNoMed noted that a variant of this oscillator with minimum population of 66 cells is isotropically endemic to Game of Life,[5] surpassing the previous record holder of p196 pi-heptomino hassler plus pentadecathlon at 78 cells:

The current 20-glider synthesis is for the 52-cell form, not the 51-cell form.
