A period-26 honey farm hassler was found by Mitchell Riley on April 19, 2023 in a CatForce search.[1] In terms of its minimum population of 60 cells, it is currently the smallest known non-trivial period-26 oscillator, although the trivial blinker on Beluchenko's p13 has a minimum population of only 37 cells.
There are 3 different forms of the oscillator because the block catalysts can be moved by one cell.
34-glider syntheses for all three forms were completed in May 2023.[2][3][4] In November 2023 the cost was reduced to 31 gliders[5][6] and then further reduced to 29 gliders.[5][7] On February 20, 2024, the cost was lowered to 27 gliders.[8][9]
