p30 technology

p30 technology is a set of reactions and components that can be used with glider and other spaceship streams with period 30 and sometimes multiples of 30. The main components are the queen bee shuttle with period 30 and the pentadecathlon with period 15.

It is the first known useful technology period, as the queen bee shuttle was discovered before the p46 twin bees shuttle.

Uses

The Remini was built explicitly using p30 technology as if the Snark hadn't been discovered yet, even though the Snark is compatible with periods 60, 90, 120, etc.

Golly's pattern collection (Patterns/Life/) includes a number of patterns showcasing period-30 circuitry.
