p59 pi-heptomino hassler is a period-59 oscillator discovered by Mitchell Riley on April 4, 2023.[1] It is currently the smallest known oscillator of this period, consisting of 2 eater 3s and 2 snakes hassling two pi-heptominoes.
Glider synthesis
A 75-glider synthesis of this oscillator was found by Chris857 on May 20, 2023,[2][3] and further reduced to 69 gliders on June 30, 2023.[4][5] The glider cost was reduced to 68 gliders in September 2023,[6] 66 gliders on September 21, 2023,[7] and 65 gliders on September 30, 2023.[8][9]
