Period-117 glider gun is a true period 117 gun discovered by David Raucci on July 6, 2021. The gun uses the same reaction as AK-94 where a honey farm hitting a fishhook produces a glider, but unlike AK-94, the period-117 gun uses two interacting copies instead of being a shuttle. The gun was initially found using 48P9s as sparkers, and then reduced with regard to bounding box by Tanner Jacobi using 66P13s, and then by Matthias Merzenich using 50P9s the same day. It is the smallest known odd-period gun by bounding box; its bounding box is 42×29=1218 cells, beating the previous record of 55×34=1870 cells for the period-33 glider gun.
