Revision as of 11:36, 28 May 2023 by DroneBetter(talk | contribs)(Add embed and brief explanation of smaller variant, provisionally comment out the "see, e.g.," for Chris Cain's collection (which does not contain a period-435 one))
Period-435 glider gun is a true period 435 double-barrelledglider gun constructed by Scot Ellison on 5 December 2003, shown in the Karel's p15 and heavyweight volcano articles. The original version used David Eppstein's first discovered larger variant of the heavyweight volcano. Smaller period-435 guns have since been constructed.
The current smallest known period-435 glider gun by bounding box,[1] using the 84P87. The hassling oscillator from the period-87 glider gun that creates the glider is replaced with a lower-population variant that uses one more row, because the bounding box is extended by the quinti-Snark anyway.
