Period-48 glider gun is a true period compound glider gun based on the period-24 glider gun, using a Rich's p16 oscillator as a filter to remove half of the gliders from the stream.[1]
In January 2019 a slightly smaller period-48 glider gun was constructed -- 51×35, 252 cells minimum -- based on the newly discovered period-24 dueling banjos oscillator.
