Period-54 glider gun is a true period 54 gun discovered by David Raucci on September 16, 2021. It consists of periodic honeyfarm-to-LOM and LOM-to-honeyfarm conduits that connect only to each other. As often happens, the earliest form of the gun (a dimer using two p9 heavyweight emulators) was gradually improved during the course of a discussion on Discord, to the form shown in the infobox at right, which uses a period-9 snacker and a period-3 catalyst found via search program.

This is one of a relatively small number of known true period guns below period 62, beyond which stable Herschel loops enable the construction of arbitrary-period guns. It is currently the fourth-smallest glider gun overall with a distinct period.
