Period-856 glider gun is a true period 856 four-barrelled glider gun found by David Buckingham in 1991.[1] It was one of the first known Herschel loops.

A 127-glider synthesis for this gun capped by four eaters was completed on February 2, 2022;[2] it is not known whether this was the first glider synthesis of the gun to be created, and this synthesis has also yet to be optimised.
