Period-856 glider gun is a true period 856 four-barrelled glider gun found by David Buckingham in 1991. It was one of the first known Herschel loops.

A 127-glider synthesis for this gun capped by four eaters was completed on February 2, 2022, which was later improved to 110 gliders with the help of Dave Greene. It is not known whether this was the first glider synthesis of the gun to be created.
