Rattlesnake is a period-11 oscillator found by Dean Hickerson on January 10, 2016[1]. In terms of its 33 cells, it is currently the smallest known period 11 oscillator. It gives 2 sparks: one on the right and one on the left, and this allows the construction of higher-period oscillators.

Martin Grant found a 37-glider synthesis of this oscillator no later than January 13, 2016.[2]
