Raucci's p217 is a period-217 oscillator found by David Raucci on May 5, 2021 . It consists of four U-turners (which had no name at the time) being hassled by four Merzenich's p31s .[1]
The bounding box can be reduced from 74×74 to 72×72 by using the diagonal sparks of Merzenich's p31 instead of the domino sparks, but this increases its minimum population from 236 to 256 due to a change in phase.[2]
