Self-synthesizing

An object is said to be self-synthesizing if at least one of the phases of its evolution is its own glider synthesis. More generally, it can refer to a pattern in any rule which is composed entirely of spaceships (which are able to come from infinity) in at least one phase.
The self-synthesizing oblique loopship is one explicitly constructed example in Life.
MOS
MOS is an acronym for Made Of Spaceships, and is used to refer to classes of self-synthesizing objects. The acronym is rarely used in isolation, and is often combined with another letter representing another pattern class:
- SMOS: Spaceship made of spaceships
- SMOSMOS: Spaceship made of spaceships made of spaceships
- OMOS: Oscillator made of spaceships[1]
- RMOS: Replicator made of spaceships[2]
- PMOS: Puffer made of spaceships[3]
- QGMOS: Quadratic growth made of Spaceships[4]
