Speed Orthogonoid
A Speed Orthogonoid is an adjustable spaceship that can be made to travel arbitrarily close to the orthogonal speed limit of c/2, similar to the Speed Demonoid's adjustability for diagonal speeds arbitrarily close to c/4.
On April 1, 2022, Goldtiger997 completed a Speed Orthogonoid with a speed of 56000466c/152004592 (approximately c/2.714).[1] This initial version can be adjusted to every orthogonal speed whose simplified velocity has a period which is divisible by 4. The next day, Goldtiger997 posted a 5c/12 (56000490c/134401176) version, a 15c/32 (99027450c/211258560) version, followed by a 3c/8 (56000466c/149334576) version.[2]. A few days later, Goldtiger997 tweaked the design to make it Hashlife friendly and removed the velocity restriction.[3]
