Talk:Pattern of the Year
Once the 2017 competition finishes, I'd be willing to organise belated competitions for 2012 through to 2014. We already have lists of entries for 2012 and 2014, so it wouldn't be that difficult to do. 77topaz (talk) 22:27, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- You should ask on the forums whether there is any interest in doing the pattern of the year votes for 2012-2014.

- Excellent, thanks. I added a section for the 2010 competition to the article. Apple Bottom (talk) 09:44, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
2013 results
There was a belated 2013 competition as well, the results of which can be found here. 77topaz (talk) 09:58, 26 January 2019 (UTC)
Summary table formatting
I don't think I agree with using colspan="2" for the 2011 pattern of the year winner. As I see it, neither pattern occupies second place. They both took first place and there is no second place pattern. I think it's easier to see this if the second place column is empty. If the width of the table is a concern we could consider adding a line break between the two winners, but since the summary table isn't nearly as wide as the detailed tables for each year, I don't think that's strictly necessary.

- Good point. I had changed this because the relative length of that cell compared to the others looked rather ugly in my opinion, but adding a line break should work too. Ian07 (talk) 01:38, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
Table of contents
How is your new design of table of contents better than the old one, User:Book? I guess it has something to do with the year entries that are all merged into the same line, but I would prefer the default settings because that is automatically generated and looks the same on mobile phone as on computer. To me, the ever-growing vertical list of years is poor design. But I understand your point. Book (talk) 17:09, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
Another way to make the list shorter is to split the page, say, every five years, and reduce this article to introduction and summary of POTY. Opinions? GUYTU6J (talk) 12:26, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
