Glider Synthesis
The Smiley can be created by a glider synthesis (I think; I don't know if the still lifes in the middle can be created like that with gliders). http://pentadecathlon.com/lifeNews/2008/01/oscillator_construction.html Lewis Patterson 15:52, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've fixed that now. That set of still lifes looks to be constructible with 14 gliders, which puts the total synthesis at 28 gliders. Nathaniel 16:37, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Smacking an LWSS into a smiley
File:Smiley+LWSS=?.png This creates a really interesting reaction that is about 2.4 times as long generation-wise as that of the R-Pentomino.
